Music
Music is a very important and well-loved ministry at First Christian Church. If you have a passion for music, our groups provide an opportunity for you to serve. We allow extreme flexibility with your personal schedule and always welcome new members!
Music Groups & Ensembles
Chancel Choir
The Chancel Choir provides anthems and service music for Sunday Worship and many special services that are held throughout the year. Anyone middle school age and older who enjoys singing is welcome to join this choir at any time. Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 5:30 to 6:45 pm in the Sanctuary.
The Chancel Choir is active September through May. However during the summer months, special music is provided by soloists and small ensembles, most of whom are from this and our other groups; as well as others in the congregation.
Contemporary Worship Team
The CWT provides music for our Worship service and other special services throughout the year.
Many different styles of music are embraced and used to enhance worship. Our team of musicians includes vocalists and a wide variety of instrumentalists (to include, but not limited to: keyboard, acoustic, electric, and bass guitar, and percussion). We incorporate current worship trends and ideas as tools to make our services worshipful and inviting. We strive to always keep God at the center of our music.
We have musicians of many different skill levels and ages, and we welcome new members at any time. Rehearsals are held Sunday mornings before Worship.
Handbell Choir - “The Bells of First Christian”
The Handbell Choir provides musical selections quarterly during Worship services September through May, and participates in special services throughout the year. This group provides its members a unique opportunity to work as a team.
Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings, 7:00 - 8:00 pm in the Sanctuary. New members are welcome at any time!
All of our groups provide a close knit community for anyone willing to join. We fellowship with one another, have fun, provide a support group, and understand our role in the church: to provide music in such a way that it enhances the overall worship experience of the congregation and helps communicate the message of our church; faith, compassion, and community.
